USTT's E-Verify / Background Check Policy

E- Verify

USTT Inc. is an authorized E-Verify Agent. E-Verify enables Designated Agents to verify employment eligibility for all newly hired employees, regardless of citizenship. E-Verify provides an automated link to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA) databases to help determine employment eligibility of our client's newly hired employees and the validity of their Social Security numbers.

When an applicant comes in to USTT, they are asked to present both a valid picture ID and their Social Security Card. Copies are made of each form of identification, and the applicants Social Security Number is logged into a internet –based system E-verify.

E-Verify is an Internet-based system that allows an employer, using information reported on an employee's Form I-9, to determine the eligibility of that employee to work in the United States. For most employers, the use of E-Verify is voluntary and limited to determining the employment eligibility of new hires only.

The E-Verify system is operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in partnership with the Social Security Administration.

Background checks

USTT uses a sophisticated background check screening system that gathers an applicant's address history, birth date and SS# to generate complete history searches. The results display records down to the county level and includes felonies and misdemeanors as well as inmate and sex offender records. A search of court records will be associated with the subjects current and previous residences. Reported information will include court, case number, date filed, charges, conviction date and disposition. Applicants with serious felony convictions are not taken into consideration for employment.
